Drenched in Peace was born in 2016. It all started when I joined a watercolor scripture class at a church. Watercolor became my escape from the anxiety I was feeling. When I painted, my mind would calm down, and I’d focus on different verses as I slowly painted each letter. I shared a few of my paintings on social media, and people loved them so much that they wanted them! A few months later, I started showing up at art walks, farmers markets, and festivals. In 2019, we moved from Texas to Illinois, and I took a break from my art and business. But then, in 2023, I felt a strong call to get back into art and pursue it professionally. My first art fair was at Springfield Old Capitol, and I sold so many prints and originals that I knew this was the direction my business was headed.
Since Drenched in Peace began, I’ve had the chance to show my work in Indianapolis, St. Louis, Chicago, Normal, and many other midwest cities.
I’m committed to empowering women to cultivate warmth, love, and self-expression within their communities. My art reflects the many emotions that women feel, which are often not understood or valued in society. As the embodiment of peace and harmony in our homes, my art captures the strength and growth that come with being a woman. The use of muted colors reminds us of the challenges that women face, while the vibrant hues symbolize the triumphs and joys that emerge during tough times. Through my floral subjects, I honor the beauty of women’s sacrifices, which have a lasting impact on the lives they touch. Ultimately, my art is about celebrating and recognizing the incredible contributions of women.
